Analytics Tracking
Analytics tracking is currently enabled to help us improve ClassTrack.
✅ What We DO Track
Anonymous Behavior
- Which pages you visit (e.g., "landing page", "pricing")
- Which buttons you click (e.g., "Get Started")
- Actions you take (e.g., "created a class", "marked attendance")
- Errors that occur (so we can fix bugs)
Technical Context
- Device type (mobile/tablet/desktop)
- Browser type (Chrome, Firefox, Safari)
- Screen size (to optimize layouts)
- Timezone (e.g., "America/Chicago") - helps us understand where our users are located
Marketing Attribution
- Where you came from (if you clicked a link from Twitter, Facebook, etc.)
- UTM parameters (if we shared a tagged link)
❌ What We DON'T Track
- ❌ No cookies - We don't use tracking cookies
- ❌ No student data - We never log student names, grades, or attendance records
- ❌ No personal information - Your email, school name, and class content are never in analytics
- ❌ No cross-site tracking - We don't follow you around the internet
- ❌ No selling data - Your data stays with us, period
- ❌ No AI training - We don't use your data to train models
🔒 Data Storage & Retention
- Where: Stored in our Supabase database (same place as your class data)
- Who sees it: Only the ClassTrack founder (me)
- How long: Automatically deleted after 90 days
- Can you opt out: Yes - use the toggle above or email support@classtrack.app
- Effect of opting out: We'll stop tracking your behavior immediately. Your existing data will still auto-delete after 90 days.
🤔 Why We Track This
We track behavior to answer questions like:
- "Which features are teachers actually using?"
- "Where are users getting stuck?"
- "Are mobile users having a good experience?"
- "Is our onboarding clear?"
We never use this data to sell ads, build user profiles, or share with third parties.
